St Joes Virtual Advent Calendar -Acts of Kindness
For this year's St Joe's Virtual Advent Calendar, we focused on kindness to coincide with the Year of St Joseph.
Each school day during Advent we posted pictures displaying an act of kindness taken from around the school. On the school blog they were posted alongside a Bible verse. The Bible verses were selected by our Chaplaincy Team.

Some of the acts of kindness included:
- Picking up rubbish from the playground and local streets around the school
- Raising money for the Clifton Diocese Schools Project (Uganda)
- Leaving happy and kind chalk messages in the playground
- Recording songs & telling jokes to the school community
- Raising money for a cancer charity
- Helping friends to zip up their coats and put their shoes on.
- Writing compliment messages & posters
- Spreading contagious smiles and happiness around the school!
St Joseph's Cup
During the Year of St Joseph, we launched the St Joseph's Cup. This cup is awarded to the child who best displays the virtues of St Joseph in the act they undertake.
The first winner of our St Joseph's Cup was a member of Year 5. He grew his hair for two years so that it could be cut and made into a wig to support a child with cancer. He is also raising money for this worthwhile cause.
St Joseph's Tool Kit
Year 6 thought about what tools they need to undertake God's work and be more like St Joseph.
