For this year's St Joe's Virtual Advent Calendar, we focused on Catholic Social Teaching.

Toy Sale For Uganda 2024
Toy Sale For Uganda
The Chaplaincy Team have been raising money for the Clifton Diocese Schools (Emmaus) Project. We raised a fantastic £300.82 All the money raised will go towards helping to provide clean water resources and tree planting in Uganda.

Toy Sale for Uganda 2023
The Chaplaincy Team have been raising money for the Clifton Diocese Schools (Emmaus) Project. We raised a fantastic £285. All the money raised will go towards helping to provide clean water resources and tree planting in Uganda.

Christmas celebrations around the world
Reception have been learning about the different ways Christmas is celebrated around the world. They learnt that in Iceland, they have a Christmas Book Flood where friends and families exchange books and read them together on Christmas Eve. They invited their Year 6 buddies to come and read some Christmas stories with them.

Advent 2021
St Joes Virtual Advent Calendar -Acts of Kindness
For this year's St Joe's Virtual Advent Calendar, we focused on kindness to coincide with the Year of St Joseph.
Each school day during Advent we posted pictures displaying an act of kindness taken from around the school. On the school blog they were posted alongside a Bible verse. The Bible verses were selected by our Chaplaincy Team.

Some of the acts of kindness included:
- Picking up rubbish from the playground and local streets around the school
- Raising money for the Clifton Diocese Schools Project (Uganda)
- Leaving happy and kind chalk messages in the playground
- Recording songs & telling jokes to the school community
- Raising money for a cancer charity
- Helping friends to zip up their coats and put their shoes on.
- Writing compliment messages & posters
- Spreading contagious smiles and happiness around the school!
