Religious Education

CURRICULUM / RE GALLERY

In Religious Education we celebrate the uniqueness of each individual, made in the image and likeness of God. We believe children should truly know and understand their own faith, if they have one, and live it in their everyday lives. Part of truly knowing our faith involves understanding, respecting and celebrating other faiths. Fundamental to the religious life of the school is the example Jesus gave us in his loving relationships with others.

RE contributes to our learning and faith by:

  • Enabling children to become closer to God and recognise his presence in their lives
  • Ensuring children know that they are special and loved
  • Helping children make good friendships and understand what makes a good friend
  • Showing children how to respect other people
  • Teaching children about the life and teaching of the Catholic Church
  • Teaching respect for people of other faiths or no faith by developing understanding and celebrating the beliefs of others
  • Teaching children about their responsibility to care for our planet and all creation
  • Nurturing curiosity and encouraging children to question and seek answers to the important questions in life
