Year of St Francis of Assisi

2026 marks the 800th anniversary of St Francis of Assisi's death in 1226.

Pope Leo XIV declared that it will be a special Year of St Francis in which we are all called to become saints in our world, following St Francis' example. We are called to model a holiness of life and witness to peace.

Year 5 and the Chaplaincy Team gave a brilliant assembly on St Francis of Assisi & the Year of St Francis.

Scales & Tales

Scales & Tails

We had a visit from Scales & Tails Encounters. All classes had a hands-on educational experience with a variety of reptiles and other fascinating animals. St Francis of Assisi loved God’s creation and recognised that every creature was part of God’s wonderful world. He called creatures his brothers and sisters because they were created by the same loving God.

As we meet some amazing reptiles, we had the opportunity to stop and wonder at the variety of creatures God has created. We thought about what makes each animal special and how we have a responsibility to care for and protect God’s creation.

CAFOD Fundraising

A huge well done to Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 for raising an incredible £1,281.73 through their ‘Grow a Pound’ fundraising project for CAFOD!
